Presidential hopeful Barack Obama had to backpedal after he claimed his uncle helped liberate the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1945. The Republicans were quick to jump on the mistake. Obama corrected his statement made in a Memorial Day speech. His uncle actually helped liberate Buchenwald concentration camp. Auschwitz was liberated by the Red Army.
Paris Hilton wants to be a mother. She is quoted as saying that because she has taken care of so many animals, including a kinkajou named Baby Luv, that she will be a good mother.
Paris Hilton said she would like to get pregnant soon. Her close friend and ‘Simple Life’ co-star Nicole Richie became a mom earlier this year.
French skydiver Michel Fournier’s balloon that was supposed to carry him to the edge of space 25 miles above the Earth’s surface escaped from his flight crew today in Saskatchewan, Canada. Fournier has spent 20 years trying to break four records at the same time: highest jump, fastest and longest free fall and the highest altitude reached by a person in a balloon. Fournier is 64 and has spent almost 20 million dollars trying to do “The Big Jump.” The balloon drifted back to ground miles away. Wonder if Fournier will try again?
There isn’t going to be a fourth season of The Flavor of Love. Rapper Flavor Flav proposed to the mother of his youngest son, Karma. Here is quote from da man hiself:
“Right now, I feel so relieved. You know what I’m sayin’? Liz is a very wonderful person … I think right now she deserved the best and the best is me.”

Tama the cat wears a stationmaster cap and “poses” for photos with riders on the Wakayama Railway in Japan. More people are riding the train line thanks to Tama. There is even a picture book about this cat. Why not a stationmaster dog? Cats are good luck symbols in Japan.

Paul McCartney was made a knight in 1996 and now in 2008 he is doctor. I am grilling hamburgers at the Memorial Day barbecue and he is getting a doctorate from Yale. Dr. Paul McCartney is now 65. Way to go, Paul McCartney!
Too bad for Utah Phillips. I am sorry he died. He really turned my head around. One thing he said was to stop complain when we hear about a group of workers getting a raise. He said to remember there’s plenty of money to go around, not to get jealous, and to get busy working to improve our own lives. Don’t talk bad about each other. That is good advice.
