Please have mercy congress! Most Americans cannot continue to survive unless gas prices are lower. This is so stupid. Why does congress not want America to drill oil? Get rid of those who think animals are more important that human life. If they are really evolutionist, then let the survival of the fittest do its normal job. Please let American survive.

Hey if you flaming liberals would have shut up 10-15 years ago we would be pumping oil from offshore and alaska and paying maybe $2-$3 a gallon. I know it wouldn’t solve everything but it would buy us some time.

If people would have listened to the flaming liberals thirty years ago, we would no longer be dependent upon oil at all and would have electric cars, not hybrid, and would have solar power and wind power, not nuclear and oil/gas. The last thirty years have been wasted as the government continued to pander to the large corporations who profit from the destruction of the planet.

Please let America survive? Ha! I don’t feel sorry for this country. It doesn’t need any help. We have everything we need right here in the good ol’ USA. We have wind for wind power. We have sun for solar. We can invent and build electric cars. Heck, we could build an electric car with solar panels on the roof that would also recharge the batteries from the instream of air created by the movement of the car itself. If we actually kept our money inside of the USA, instead of killing innocent civilians in faraway lands to get their oil for ourselves, we would have the resources available for the research and development needed for these technologies. And we could sell this technology to other countries so the whole world could have sustainable, clean energy for all. How about that for survival?

Darn, you found me out. I AM a tree hugger. Even was in a protest and got arrested trying to save a pristine old growth forest from the blades of the chainsaws of a money-grubbing logging conglomerate. Did jail time for it. And I am proud that I live in a country where I have the freedom to believe what I want to believe. And if I see something I feel is wrong, I am grateful I have the opportunity to speak out against it and to try to stop it in the way I see fit, with non-violent protest. There are benefits to high gas prices, mainly teenagers can’t afford to drive. Which means we don’t have to put up with them on the road and since they cause more accidents, less accidents.

For the record, I was paying gas prices this high years ago when I was stationed in Japan. Foreign countries have been living with high gas prices for years, America is just joining the party.

Gas just hit $3/ litre in the Torres Strait Islands between Australia and PNG the depend on petrol for generators and outboards for the boats: there are no roads - they also live a aubsitence level.

In 1995 the worst president ever Bill Clinton vetoed a bill that would have allowed the U.S. to drill for the oil in anwar. I want clean water and clean air to and guess what the U.S. is the only country that cares what happens to the enviroment. The world is a much different place then it was just 10 years ago. Now that China and India have chosen capitalism there oil needs have increased also, but I wonder why you don’t mention a Communist country needing so much oil. Global Warming is a myth concoted by the Democratic Party for political gain, but the fact that the Earth’s temperture has only increased 1 degree doesn’t mean anything I guess, carbon credits are you kidding me? Just answer one question…where did acid rain go? It was acid rain then and now it’s global warming, your party is a joke
